Association origins stem from protecting textile industry’s interests and improve the economic well-being of Pakistan. PTEA is a corporate licensed organization by the Government of Pakistan under Trade Organizations Act 2013 and incorporated in 1985 under the company’s ordinance 1984.

The Association was established in 1985 under the name of “All Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association as First Class Trade Body of Pakistan. To expand the scope of Association its name was changed from “All Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association” to “Pakistan Textile Exporters Association” in 2004 on all Pakistan Basis due to new era of W.T.O. The headquarters of the association is in Faisalabad with its circle offices at Karachi and Lahore.

Before PTEA, textile exporters were facing many constraints and find it difficult to ensure fast-paced industrial and export growth. The reason was that no proper platform was available to protect the interests of textile exporters. It was in 1985 that some enterprising exporters took initiative to tap the huge potential of textile export from this region. Notable businessmen, a few were in numbers, set a mandate to work with grit and determination with financial and moral support of its members. From year to year, the Association grew bigger and bigger.
