Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA), in a press statement published today 8th July 2020 in leading newspapers, has expressed grave concern over undue delay in processing of exporters’ sales tax refund claims under FASTER system which is adversely impacting the export cycle as exporters’ liquidity have already taken a strong negative hit from the adverse impacts of COVID-19. Government must take immediate measures to ease off the financial stress and gear up the export growth.

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has revealed the provisional figures of external trade for July-December 2019. According to the figures, export of textiles rose by 3.94% to US$ 6.90 billion in July-December period compared to US$ 6.64 billion in the corresponding months of last year.

Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) has elected unopposed Muhammad Ahmad as the Chairman; whereas Iftikhar Ahmad Malik and Saqib Majeed were elected unopposed as Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. Earlier, twelve members were elected unopposed for the Executive Committee seats for the next two year term. Heartiest Congratulations to the elected members!!
